How we document hail
A proper hail inspection is methodical. We mark a test square on each slope, chalk every impact inside it, measure stone size against the bruise diameter, and check the soft metals — gutters, downspouts, vent caps, gutter aprons — because dents there corroborate the hail size on the roof.
That documentation is what separates an approved claim from a denial. Adjusters are asked to justify every payout, and a roofer who cannot produce slope-by-slope evidence gives them a reason to say no.
Hail damage is not always visible from the ground
The single most common thing we hear is that the roof looks fine from the driveway. It usually does. Bruising is a texture change, not a hole. If a hail-producing storm was warned for your area, the only way to know is to have someone walk it.
