Why wind damage hides
Straight-line winds in the 60 to 80 mph range rarely blow shingles off a roof outright. They break the sealant strip, lift the shingle, and let it fall back into place. From the street the roof looks perfect. In reality every unsealed shingle is now a place for wind-driven rain to get underneath, and the next storm is the one that causes the interior damage.

Edges and transitions: eave and rake courses, ridge caps, hip lines, and anywhere the roof meets a wall or chimney. Tall gable ends and two-story elevations facing the prevailing wind take the worst of it. We hand-check seal integrity along these areas rather than relying on a visual scan.
